    This nation has long ballyhooed the virtues of education but what we do speaks so loudly we can't hear what is said.  Every politician no matter what office s/he is running for always has a statement supporting education, to the point leaving one to wonder if s/he is not seeking  the wrong office...

    Growing up in the South I became quite familiar with various colloquial expressions to describe different situations. My mother often used one such in noting bizarre behavior: "It takes all kinds in this old world." That certainly covers the many human foibles of these days.
