    No matter how it pans out it is going to be a long rough two years waiting for the next election. It is reasonable to expect it to be an awakening for those who could not be bothered to vote or, just as bad, succumbed to the advertising purchased by those untraceable dollars.

    Poll after poll continue to show the Democrat Senate majority as endangered and President Obama's popularity as equally in peril. What is it that so many don't seem to comprehend about the political realities of the era?

    As I watched the recent PBS Series, "The Roosevelts," I couldn't help but think that not much had changed in so far as humankind's relations are concerned. We do seem to have bigger and better weapons but no lessening of the human greed...

    The House Republicans actually voted with the Democrats to authorize the training and arming of Syrian rebels combating the militant Islamic State. Even though I think it was necessary, such cooperation from the Republicans tends to make me nervous....

    Another one of those old sayings frequently mentioned that I grew up in the South with is "A wise man sometimes changes his mind; a fool never does." I place President Obama in that first part by his postponing action on the immigration situation...

    Another man has made a wild uninformed statement on the subject of rape. Where in the world are these men coming from? What are they thinking? How do they fancy themselves as such experts on rape?
